I fell in love with this top not just because of the gorgeous lace and ruffle detail (yes I am addicted, I know) but how versatile it is and how it will go with so many things. I’ve paired it here with my fave distressed denim jeans and knee high boots for an edgier look for dinner and a movie date night with the hubby, but I could easily wear it with a pencil or midi skirt for a more formal look, or even tailored pants or shorts. I know it may look like I am enjoying summer weather, it is technically winter here, so I opted to wear a white singlet underneath. Yes, you heard me, it is winter here so I’m wearing a singlet. Not a coat. A singlet. 😛 #brisbanelife. But you could also wear it with just a nude strapless bra if you didn’t want the straps showing- in my case I wore a strapless bra for a cleaner look but didn’t mind my singlet straps showing- it’s almost part of the look. If you’ve shopped from Asos before you’ll know they have a Tall and Petite range. This top doesn’t come in regular, I bought it in tall only because they had my size, but I think the ‘tall’ size would suit most people- as you can see it’s not crazy long or anything. It’s in stock in multiple sizes and would make a perfect staple addition to your wardrobe! I love it when other people share good finds, so I hope you like when I do the same! 🙂
Recreate the Look (ps my shoes are on sale!)
Happy Monday! If you’ve followed me for a while (or for about 5 seconds :-P) you’ll know that midi skirts and ruffles are some of my fave things to wear. Although there’s something classic about heels with a midi skirt, they also look fab with other types of shoes, especially loafers and slides. With this outfit I opted for a neutral look with a pop of colour and print on my shoes (which are currently 30% off right now might I add and come in tonnes of sizes!) My skirt and top are sold out, but I’ve linked a heap of similar options above to get the look. This outfit is really one of my faves!
Quick life update- I’m starting a new job this week, our land settles tomorrow (weee!) and we’ve finished booking our trip to the US in September. Phew! No wonder I feel tired? 😛 We will be going to New York, Chicago (to visit dear friends, including a road trip with them, yay) and Disneyland! V. excited 😀 We just need to book restaurants and activities for NY- any recommendations? I wanted to see Hamilton, but it looks like all the dates are sold out. 🙁 Oh well!
And our land settling tomorrow means we will hopefully fingers crossed start building in at the beginning of August (after some pesky council approvals!) I am so ready to move into this house! If I sound exasperated it’s because we’ve been going through tile drama for the past few weeks- yes, it’s a thing (If you’ve built or renovated you probably understand!)
Anyway, I need to count my blessings! Boyi and I both have our health and are lucky enough to build so I shouldn’t complain! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. xxx
This top combines two of my favourite things- stripes and bows. And I’m so excited that I can finally wear it for the first time since last year (it seriously gets so hot here you can’t wear a long sleeve top for months!) Seasonal transitioning outfits can be a lot of fun- think long sleeves and short hemlines, summer dresses with ankle boots, and denim or leather jackets over everything.
Since it’s not too chilly I decided to spice up my outfit with denim shorts instead of jeans and my absolute favourite Sam Edelman heels . I had wanted the Stuart Weitzman Nunaked heels for a while, but I just couldn’t justify paying more than $600 extra for what is essentially almost the same shoe. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good designer piece, and adore my Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots but I think boots are different and anyway that’s a whole lot of boot for your money that will last years and years. And who knows, maybe I’ll get a Nunaked one day, but today wasn’t that day. So if you’ve been eyeing these Nunaked (and who hasn’t?!) I highly recommend these Sam Edelman’s as an alternative. <3
This outfit is perfect for when you want to get a bit dressed up, but not too dressy. Add a pop of pink (as I always do :-P) and you’re good to go!
Unfortunately my top is no longer available, but I’ve linked a few alternatives in the widget above to get the look! Enjoy! 🙂
