I fell in love with this top not just because of the gorgeous lace and ruffle detail (yes I am addicted, I know) but how versatile it is and how it will go with so many things. I’ve paired it here with my fave distressed denim jeans and knee high boots for an edgier look for dinner and a movie date night with the hubby, but I could easily wear it with a pencil or midi skirt for a more formal look, or even tailored pants or shorts. I know it may look like I am enjoying summer weather, it is technically winter here, so I opted to wear a white singlet underneath. Yes, you heard me, it is winter here so I’m wearing a singlet. Not a coat. A singlet. 😛 #brisbanelife. But you could also wear it with just a nude strapless bra if you didn’t want the straps showing- in my case I wore a strapless bra for a cleaner look but didn’t mind my singlet straps showing- it’s almost part of the look. If you’ve shopped from Asos before you’ll know they have a Tall and Petite range. This top doesn’t come in regular, I bought it in tall only because they had my size, but I think the ‘tall’ size would suit most people- as you can see it’s not crazy long or anything. It’s in stock in multiple sizes and would make a perfect staple addition to your wardrobe! I love it when other people share good finds, so I hope you like when I do the same! 🙂
One of my absolute fave looks is to pair a gorgeous detailed top with jeans and simple heels- I think this really gives the top a chance to shine. This top from Sunday Styler has it all- polka dots, ruching and ruffles galore! The black colour gives it an understated look and I added a few black accessories to pull the whole look together. I’ve also worn this top with midi skirts for a totally glam feminine look.
I’m currently finishing up what was such a fab weekend. Weekends are funny things- I feel like you need to have a perfect mixture of getting out of the house and spending time with friends and loved ones, relaxing at home, doing chores and getting things done, and if I have too much of one of these things I feel like it wasn’t a ‘success’- weird right! I think when you work Mon-Fri you put a lot of pressure on the weekend, when really you can still do heaps throughout the week! (Yes I’m late to the party and only realising this now!) Do a load of laundry in the morning before work- saves you doing it on a Saturday (or not doing it and feeling guilty!) Or go out on a date night on a Thursday (like we did last week) and in a way it feels extra special because it’s mid-week. Anyway these are my Sunday night musings!
On that note, I am off to continue watching Big Little Lies- it’s super intense! Has anyone else watched it?
I hope you all had a fabulous and happy weekend no matter what you did!
One of my fave additions to any piece of clothing is ruffles. Top with ruffles, dress with ruffles, jacket with ruffles, swimsuit with ruffles- everything that has a ruffle added to it, makes it better, am I right? 😛 Now this ruffle top I’m wearing in this post is just absolutely divine- the beautiful white fabric, the way it falls, the ruffle to non-ruffle ratio, it really is perfection. I have had people on the street come up to me and ask where I got it from (and let me tell you, only fashion-obsessed people have heard of ShopBop in Australia!)
Now this doesn’t happen often, but you can actually shop every single thing I’m wearing just by clicking on the photos in the widget above- it’s not often everything I’m wearing is in stock and available! Plus I’m wearing my fave new heels that I talked about in this post. And my ‘booty shaping’ jeans that I’m wearing are currently 2 for $60 which is ridiculous since I paid $50 for them! Whether they’re ‘booty shaping’ or not, I don’t know, but hubby liked them! haha 😛
In celebration of the ruffle top, I thought I would share some of my fave ruffle tops at the moment:
