I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s day last Sunday, whether you had a romantic dinner with your partner, a girls’ day out, treated yourself to a massage, or whatever!
I personally believe our V day started on Saturday, when we went shopping. Now I don’t know about you guys and your beau’s, but my husband is normally terrible at clothes shopping with me. He will either float after me like a shadow as I move around the shop, playing on his phone or looking at me with glazed eyes, or he will do a disappearing act and I’ll find him outside the shop sitting on a bench with the other sad husbands. My fantasy of him eagerly joining me shopping and picking out clothes ‘that would look perfect on you’ has always been just that.
Now I don’t know whether it was the pollen from all the Valentine’s flowers at the mall going to his head, but B couldn’t have been a better shopping companion on Saturday. He was helpful, supportive, talked through my wardrobe with me and what clothes I could wear a new top with, and even picked out clothes for me (including this gorgeous Karen Walker dress!) For me, it was a Valentine’s gift all in itself. (We don’t do gifts for V-day anymore, except flowers- we’re married now haha)
Sunday was stinking hot here, like 34 degrees and sunny (that’s 94 for anyone from up north 😉 ) B and I ventured out for a delicious Greek lunch and walk around West End until I begged him to take me to air conditioning! So we went and saw Deadpool (cos I’m just that kind of romantic girl), and it was so funny. I don’t think anyone else but Ryan Reynolds could have gotten away with it, but he did! (warning- not for the faint hearted!)
I wish you all a year of love- with your partners, families, pets and friends! <3
