How to wear high waisted jeans


Look how happy I look wearing my high waisted jeans! I don’t think I’ve featured this many photos where I’m smiling ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜› And we had just finished our crab lunch so I would like to give a shout out to myself to wearing high waisted skinny jeans in a post-lunch photoshoot. High waisted jeans can be fickle things, so I have a few tips for getting the look just right:

Keep your whole look streamlined and neat & tidy

You want to look slim and svelte not weirdly disproportionate, so I like to wear tops that are relatively tight fitting or can be tucked in, nothing big or bulky.

Elongate your legs

You might thing, gosh darn I’m already elongating my legs with jeans that are almost up to my armpits, but trust me, you need to elongate further! It is possible for legs to look shorter in high waisted jeans than in regular jeans. Therefore I recommend wearing simple heels or ankle boots. Ensure your ankle boots are cut at the right place, otherwise you will give yourself cankles and short legs (notice how mine are cut below where my ankle starts to get slimmer, to ensure there is clear definition between my ankle and calf)

A darker wash is going to be more flattering

Dark jeans are almost always more flattering than white, because they make you look slimmer. High wasited white or light wash jeans could look fabulous, but I recommend at least starting with a black or dark wash.

Wear them with confidence

At the end of the day, you are brave enough to wear tight fitting high waisted jeans, so you go girl! Stand up tall, with your shoulders back, tummy tucked in, and booty looking fine, and walk with confidence. You look fabulous!
